KMTC Entry Requirements

For you to join and pursue a course at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) you must’ve attained the Required Mean Grade with Specific Cluster Subjects Qualifications in your KCSE, or have a Certificate or basic Diploma in relevant fields when upgrading.

KMTC Entry Requirements

The following table is a summary of the requirements for courses offered at the KMTC.

LEVEL OF TRAINING

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

DURATION OF TRAINING

Certificate A minimum KCSE Mean Grade of C- (MINUS), with relevant combination of other subjects. Two (2) Years, except Nursing which takes 2½ Years.
Diploma KCSE Mean Grade of C (PLAIN), or equivalent, with relevant combination of other subjects such as English, Kiswahili, Biology, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Sciences. Three (3) Years, except Community Health Nursing which takes 3½ Years.
Upgrading Holders of a Certificate in relevant fields and at least Two (2) Years working experience. Two (2) Years, except Community Health Nursing which lasts 18 Months.
Higher Diploma Holders of a basic Diploma in relevant fields and at least Two (2) Years working experience. One (1) Year
Short Courses Individuals and groups such as corporate bodies, companies and government ministries interested in any course or courses can make a written request to KMTC for arrangements to be made. Two (2) Weeks – Three (3) Months
