Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has two intakes per year every year, one in the month of March and the other in September. In this article you’ll get to know all about how to apply for either preservice (first time) or inservice KMTC intakes online.

All KMTC applications are submitted online through the KMTC Admissions Portal. Prospective candidates apply for admission into courses for each academic year. Selected candidates are then placed in any of the KMTC Campuses located across the country.
You can either apply for Preservice Intake i.e. if you are getting into the College for the first time to study a diploma, certificate or higher diploma course, or Inservice Intake i.e. if you were a KMTC student who did a certificate or diploma course and you want to upgrade to diploma and higher diploma respectively.
a. Preservice Intake Application
To apply for preservice intake you must first create an account as a student on KMTC Admissions Postal.
Requirements
- Email Address, set during KMTC account creation (Check the Note section if you forgot.)
- Password, set during KMTC account creation (Check the Note section if you forgot.)
- KES. 2,100 in your M-PESA Account
Procedure
- Go to your browser, search KMTC Admissions then click on the KMTC Admissions Portal to open,
- Log into your account using your Email Address and Password set during account creation.
- On the left side menu click Applications then Apply Pre-Service. You will be directed to Option 1 course selection.
- On the Make Application page select Level i.e. certificate or diploma, Academic Calendar e.g. 2019/2020, and Intake i.e. March or September, and click Next,
- select your preferred Course from the list provided and click Next,
- review the course you selected, then
- click Submit. Follow the same procedure to select your preferred Option 2 course (this is optional), after which you will be redirected to Confirm Courses page. Make sure the courses listed reflects your selected courses. If you wish to change the course(s) click Reject, otherwise click Confirm.
- You will be redirected to Make Payment page, containing your application M-PESA payment details i.e. KMTC PayBill Business No. (964150), your Account No. (ID/Birth Certificate Number), and Amount to be paid (KES. 2,022).
- Go to your M-PESA menu and select Lipa na M-PESA,
- select PayBill from the menu,
- enter the KMTC Business No. 964150,
- precisely enter your ID Number or Birth Certificate Number (depending on which you used when creating your account) as Account No.,
- enter 2022 as the Amount,
- enter your M-PESA PIN, then
- confirm that the payment is paid to Kenya Medical Training College. In a few seconds, confirmation SMS is sent to your phone number.
- Click Payments then My Payments from left menu to see the course application payment you made.
- Click Applications then My Applications from left menu to see the courses you applied for.
b. Inservice Intake Application
Requirements
- Email Address, set during KMTC account creation (Check the Note section if you forgot.)
- Password, set during KMTC account creation (Check the Note section if you forgot.)
- Diploma or Certificate Certificate
- National ID Card
- KCSE Certificate
- Regulatory Body Certificate/License
- KES. 2,100 in your M-PESA Account
Procedure
- Go to your browser, search KMTC Admissions then click on the KMTC Admissions Portal to open,
- Log into your account using your Email Address and Password set during account creation.
- On the left side menu click Applications then Apply In-Service.
- On the Make Application page select Level i.e. Upgrading/Higher Diploma, Academic Calendar e.g. 2019/2020, and Intake i.e. March or September, and click Next,
- select your preferred Course from the list provided and click Next,
- review the course you selected, then
- click Submit. You will be redirected to Confirm Courses page. Make sure the course listed reflects your selected course. If you wish to change the course click Reject, otherwise click Confirm.
- You will be redirected to Upload section where you’ll upload Five (5) Documents i.e. scanned Diploma/Certificate of profession, National ID Card (front and back sides) or Birth Certificate, KCSE Certificate, and copy of Regulatory Body Certificate/License.
- You will then be redirected to Make Payment page, containing your application M-PESA payment details i.e. KMTC PayBill Business No. (964150), your Account No. (ID/Birth Certificate Number), and Amount to be paid (KES. 2,022).
- Go to your M-PESA menu and select Lipa na M-PESA,
- select PayBill from the menu,
- enter the KMTC Business No. 964150,
- precisely enter your ID Number or Birth Certificate Number (depending on which you used when creating your account) as Account No.,
- enter 2022 as the Amount,
- enter your M-PESA PIN, then
- confirm that the payment is paid to Kenya Medical Training College. In a few seconds, confirmation SMS is sent to your phone number.
- Click Payments then My Payments from left menu to see the course application payment you made.
- Click Applications then My Applications from left menu to see the courses you applied for.
Note
- KMTC has several courses at various levels with varying entry requirements. You are therefore required to read the advertisement or the College brochure carefully to ensure you apply correctly.
- Plan for your training at KMTC on time, funding and social support, and be ready to take up your course, if successful, in any part of this country since KMTC campuses are spread all over the country.
- Regularly check your emails and SMS for notifications from the College.
- In case you forget your Email Address, on the login page click Forgot Your Email?, enter your ID/Birth Certificate Number then click Submit. Your email address will be displayed.
- In case you forget your Password, on the login page click Forgot Your Password?, enter your Email Address then click Password Reset. Your password will be changed to 123456 which you can use to login.
