The process of Renewal of Driving License in Kenya is now convenient with the fact that most NTSA services can be accessed online via TIMS and eCitizen portals. This article gives details of how you can renew your DL at the comfort of your home or office.

Requirements
Procedure
- Go to your browser, search eCitizen then click on the eCitizen Portal to open,
- click on Sign In at the top right corner of your screen to sign into your eCitizen account,
- click the National Transport and Safety Authority tab,
- confirm it’s your account from the name (your name) displayed and click Continue,
- on the NTSA page right side of Recent Applications click on Make Application,
- on the Make Application page, click on Driving Licenses then One Year Driving License Renewal,
- read the Driving License Renewal Fees for 1 Year instructions and click Apply Now,
- confirm your DL details and click Submit.
- You’ll be directed to the Pay for Service page where you’ll choose your preferred payment method, like M-PESA.
- Follow the M-PESA payment instructions as displayed to pay a bill of KES. 650, then
- click Complete once you’ve received the M-PESA confirmation of payment message on your phone. The eCitizen system will confirm your payment, and when successful, you’ll be redirected back to Application History page where you’ll
- click Downloads on the top right side of the page then Driving License Renewal for 1 Year. Your Renewal displays.
- Click Print Service to generate a hardcopy of your Renewal, that you’ll cut along the dotted lines and stick it to your old DL.

- If at any point in time you’ll have trouble going through the process online, visit any NTSA Office or Huduma Centre near you to be assisted.
