Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC), otherwise known as KRA Clearance Certificate, is an official document that is used to prove your tax compliance as provided by the law i.e. paying your (individual taxpayer or company) taxes and filing your tax returns.

Requirements
- KRA PIN (If you’ve lost your KRA PIN Certificate which contains your PIN), click here to learn how to retrieve it.)
- iTax Password (If you’ve forgotten your iTax password, click here to learn how to reset it.)
Procedure
- Go to your browser, search iTax then click on the KRA iTax Portal to open,
- enter your KRA PIN,
- click Continue,
- enter your iTax Password,
- enter the answer to the simple arithmentic operation as the Security Stamp, then
- click Login.
- On the home page, from the top menu, move your mouse to Certificates,
- on the drop-down menu under Certificates, click on Apply for Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC),
- enter the Reason for Application, which could be:
- Job application,
- Tender application,
- License application, etc.
- click Submit, then once the application process is successful,
- download the Certificate by clicking the link where directed on the approval page.
A copy of the your TCC is also sent to your email address.
Note
- A Tax Compliance Certifcate is valid for Twelve (12) Months only.
- Clearance from the KRA is one of the five (5) clearances outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
